Job summary

Cherokee Federal is hiring a Nurse Practitioner for MEPS locations to perform comprehensive medical evaluations for applicants, ensuring compliance with DoD and regulatory standards.

The role requires CA C/PIV, DoD clearance readiness, and on-site duties at MEPS locations with salaries in the $120k–$130k range and full benefits. Prior MEPS experience and licensure across U.S. states are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Practitioner program.
• Must be board certified in FNP, ANP, AGNP or Acute Care NP.
• Current, unrestricted NP license in any US state or territory.
• Minimum of one year post-graduate direct patient care experience.
• Preference for MEPS experience and familiarity with military medical standards.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications for government clearance.
• BLS certification required.
• CAC/PIV eligibility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical histories and physical examinations for military applicants.
• Review medical documentation and test results to determine qualifications.
• Lead mental health and general health assessments with specialists when needed.
• Apply military medical accession standards and recommend further evaluations.
• Maintain HIPAA/privacy compliance in interactions with applicants and teams.
• Document medical histories, exams, and consultations in MHS Genesis EHR.
• Participate in peer reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care.
