Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to perform medical evaluations for MEPS applicants at on-site locations. The role requires CAC or PIV eligibility and DoD clearance readiness, with strong HIPAA and privacy compliance.

The position includes leadership of health assessments, documentation in MHS Genesis, and collaboration with military and healthcare teams. Requires NP degree, board certification, and active U.S. licensure; salary ranges between $120,000–$130,000 with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s or Doctoral NP degree and be ANCC/ANPCP certified.
• Board certification required in one of the following: FNP, ANP, Adult-Gerontology NP, or Acute Care NP.
• Active, unrestricted NP license in any U.S. state or territory.
• Minimum 1 year post-graduate direct patient care experience in the last 3 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• CAC or PIV card eligibility and ability to pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct histories and physical exams for MEPS applicants, adhering to DoD and health privacy standards.
• Review medical records and test results to determine medical qualifications.
• Lead mental health and general health assessments with specialty consultations as needed.
• Apply military medical accession standards and coordinate follow-up evaluations.
• Document thoroughly in EHR systems (MHS Genesis) and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient flow and care.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and risk management in processing workflows.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
