Job summary

Westat is recruiting Field Interviewers for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), a nationwide study funded by AHRQ. You will conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in sampled households and manage field duties, travel, and documentation.

Training starts January 2027 with mandatory in-person sessions and ongoing web-based modules. This is a part-time, non-exempt role with potential overtime and no initial health insurance.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older with ability to enter binding confidentiality agreements to protect project information.
• Be available to complete mandatory web-based home study training including Microsoft Teams video sessions (Jan 4–15, 2027).
• Be available to travel to in-person training (Jan 19–25, 2027) and post-training activities.
• Be available for additional training following the in-person session (Jan 26–31, 2027).

Responsibilities

• Contact households in-person and by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, complete the interview, and collect electronic and hard-copy signed documents.
• Transmit data daily when working and comply with data security requirements.
