Job summary

Westat is seeking Field Interviewers to support the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). You will conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults, travel to training, and enter data for two-year panels while working flexible, mostly evening/weekend hours.

In this role you must be 18+, complete required trainings in January 2027, and have a reliable vehicle and valid license. The position runs annually in two data collection periods with breaks between rounds.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older and able to sign confidentiality agreements.
• Complete mandatory online training between January 4 and 15, 2027.
• Travel to mandatory in-person training and possibly local or long-distance households.
• Work January 2027 through December 2030 with breaks between rounds.
• Minimum 20 hours per week when work is available, mostly evenings/weekends.
• Meet physical requirements (lift 20 pounds, walk blocks, climb stairs).
• Have a valid driver1s license and insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in households.
• Contact households, set appointments, and gain cooperation to complete interviews.
• Transmit data daily and submit electronic/paper documents.
• Travel to MEPS trainings and, as needed, to local or long-distance households.
• Comply with data security and confidentiality requirements.
