Job summary

Westat, Inc. is seeking Field Interviewers to conduct in-person and video interviews for MEPS, a national survey on health care costs and usage. Interviewers will contact households, set appointments, and collect data using a Westat laptop.

Training in January 2027 is mandatory, with some travel and overnight commitments. The role is part-time with two data collection periods each year. Hours are mainly evenings and weekends, and data must be transmitted daily.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older and able to sign confidentiality agreements.
• Be available to complete mandatory web-based and in-person training within set dates.
• Be able to travel for mandatory in-person training and occasional overnight travel.
• Be able to work at least 20 hours per week when work is available, with evenings and weekends preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contact households in-person or by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Schedule appointments and conduct interviews using Westat-provided equipment.
• Transmit data daily and complete administrative paperwork under supervision.
