Job summary

GTN Technical Staffing seeks an experienced MEP Manager to serve as the on-site technical authority for electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, and fire alarm systems at a large HPC facility in Spartanburg, SC.

The role covers submittal review, equipment delivery, installation, startup, and commissioning readiness, working directly with subcontractors, OEMs, design teams, construction, and commissioning.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of MEP experience in mission-critical, industrial, data center, or complex construction environments.
• Experience reviewing MEP submittals, shop drawings, specifications, and RFIs.
• Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, IEEE, and ASHRAE standards.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams, mechanical schematics, controls documentation, and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site technical resource for MEP systems.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, equipment specifications, RFIs, and field changes.
• Resolve technical issues affecting electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, and fire alarm systems.
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics, vendors, and OEMs on equipment delivery, installation, and startup requirements.
• Participate in FAT/FWT activities and review technical acceptance criteria.
• Support commissioning readiness, CMOP development, functional testing, energization, and load bank testing.
• Coordinate with the Construction Superintendent on installation sequencing and schedule impacts.
• Support resolution of deficiencies identified during startup and commissioning.
• Track technical issues, equipment status, and open risks.
• Present MEP technical status during project and stakeholder meetings.

Our client is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to serve as the on-site technical authority for electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, and fire alarm systems supporting a large-scale HPC facility in Spartanburg, SC.

This role will manage MEP technical scope from submittal review and equipment delivery through installation, startup, and commissioning readiness. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable working directly with subcontractors, OEMs, design teams, construction, and commissioning.

Required Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of high/low-voltage electrical systems, mechanical/cooling systems, controls, BMS/EPMS, and fire alarm systems.
• Experience reviewing MEP submittals, shop drawings, specifications, and RFIs.
• Experience coordinating equipment delivery, OEM startup, and installation readiness.
• Familiarity with FAT/FWT and commissioning processes.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams, mechanical schematics, controls documentation, and construction drawings.
• Proficiency with Procore, BIM 360, Primavera P6, and CxAlloy.
• Strong field coordination, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred.
• Equivalent hands-on MEP field experience will be considered.
• Experience with hyperscale data centers, HPC, semiconductor, power, or other mission-critical environments.
• Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, IEEE, and ASHRAE standards.
• Experience supporting commissioning, energization, startup, and turnover.
