Job summary

The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western seeks an MEP Quality Manager for a federal project in Kitsap, WA to lead the quality management system, coach staff, and drive continuous improvement across planning, materials and execution.

Candidates should have an AEC degree or equivalent, current certifications, Level 1 QCM, and 7+ years in AEC with 3+ in quality; travel may be required. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• AEC Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent related field experience with ICC, NICET, etc. Current certification required.
• USACE/NAVFAC/NRC Construction Quality Management certification preferred but not required.
• Industry certifications for testing and inspection as required to review and certify that tests, inspections, and procedures satisfy requirements.
• Limited travel for projects as necessary.
• Level 1 QCM.
• Minimum 7 years of AEC experience, with 3 years preferred in a Quality role.
• Good communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time.
• Knowledge of standards, specifications and publications of job related duties.
• Salary: $100,000 - 135,000 DOE

Responsibilities

• Quality champion for a project or multiple projects, responsible for quality of works, material management, documentation and close-out.
• Coaches, mentors and trains project staff in quality management principles and project-specific requirements.
• Lead and manage quality processes such as work planning, pre-activity meetings, material management, Quality Incident Reports, Lesson Sharing and follow-up inspections.
• Establishes, monitors and reports on KPIs and QIRs for project teams to ensure continuous improvement.
• Routinely audits project quality programs and provides feedback to Operations and Quality Management.
• Directs inspection, testing and documentation of the works; schedules inspections with operations, labs and Client.
• Creates and implements project-specific inspection/test plans and QC plans; supports material reviews.
• Responsible for risk management strategy to improve profitability via process management and mitigation.
• Maintains relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors and stakeholders to support project partnering.
• Supports Site Safety to ensure adherence to safety procedures and goals.
• Monitors project quality costs and feedback to optimize budgets and risk reporting.
