Job summary

Inglese Architecture + Engineering is seeking a full-time MEP Engineering Project Manager 1 in Cedar Grove, NJ to lead MEP design for mixed-use and multifamily projects from proposal through construction closeout, working closely with clients, architects, and contractors to bring each project to life.

You will guide and mentor staff engineers, drafters, and interns while keeping design quality, schedules, and budgets on track, and you will navigate permitting, energy code, and coordination with

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline.
• 4 to 5 years of MEP design experience with leadership of deliverables.
• EIT or FE exam preferred, and strong knowledge of building codes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT MEP, and Bluebeam Revu.
• Experience in affordable/public housing multi-family work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages MEP scope on multiple mixed-use, multi-family, and institutional projects from schematic design through construction administration.
• Serves as primary MEP contact for clients, architects, and contractors and leads MEP design meetings.
• Sets design direction and documents decisions with the client and design team.
• Builds work plans, schedules, budgets, and reports status and risks to leadership.
• Reviews calculations, drawings, and specs prepared by staff and approves before issue.
• Resolves complex technical and code issues across MEP trades.
• Manages permit filings and plan examiner responses with authorities.
• Coordinates energy code, green building, and incentive program requirements.
• Leads submittal reviews, RFIs, and change order reviews.
• Conducts site observations and supports project closeout.
• Mentors staff and maintains client relationships that lead to repeat work.
