Alston Construction is seeking a seasoned MEP Preconstruction Director to oversee cost estimating, bid strategy, and preconstruction services for complex projects. You will lead the estimation team, develop competitive bids, and mentor junior staff across multiple offices.

The role emphasizes experience with MEP systems, data center projects, and design-build delivery, with a strong focus on risk mitigation, cost control, and profitable project award.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years estimating experience for MEP scopes in GC or MEP contracting.
• Minimum 5 years estimating MEP systems for large Data Center projects.
• Design-build experience on relevant project types.
• OSHA 10-hour Certification and First Aid/CPR.
• Experience with Building Connected and Accubid.

Responsibilities

• Estimate costs for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and systems from concept to permit documents.
• Develop value-engineered alternatives and bid packages.
• Lead bid solicitations, review subcontractor proposals, and negotiate awards.
• Mentor and train Preconstruction and Estimating staff.
• Coordinate with design teams and manage permit document delivery.
