Alston Construction is seeking an Estimator to deliver thorough, accurate and competitive cost estimates to win profitable projects. The role covers design through construction and permit documents, with emphasis on reviewing drawings, managing bid and preconstruction meetings, and analyzing cost data from historical projects.

Responsibilities include preparing bid packages, developing scopes for subs, performing takeoffs, evaluating subcontractor proposals, and assisting with change orders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field with estimating experience.
• Experience assisting in estimating for conceptual and hard bid construction projects.
• Design-build experience and value engineering preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide thorough, accurate cost estimates through all design phases.
• Review drawings and manage bid/preconstruction meetings.
• Analyze cost data from historical projects and reports for future estimates.
• Provide cost data to clients and project team.
• Prepare bid packages and coordinate bid solicitations and RFPs.
• Develop scopes of work for subs before/during bids.
• Perform takeoffs of multiple trades to minimize cost risks.
• Analyze subcontractor proposals for cost and scope.
• Identify and qualify subcontractors to expand bid coverage.
• Prepare preliminary project schedules during preconstruction and assist with the schedule.
• Assist with pricing and negotiating owner and subcontractor change orders.
• Maintain detailed records of estimate assumptions.
• Other duties as assigned.
