Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking a qualified MEP Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection scopes. The role involves reviewing drawings, developing detailed cost estimates, and coordinating with subcontractors to build competitive bid packages.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Experience estimating MEP scopes for commercial or industrial construction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Ability to evaluate subcontractor proposals and identify scope gaps and pricing discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Review MEP/FP drawings, specifications, bid documents, and addenda to determine project scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, and related building systems.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Solicit pricing from qualified MEP subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Develop and maintain MEP bid tabs and scope comparisons.
• Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams to incorporate MEP pricing into overall project estimates.
