Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced MEP Design Phase Manager to guide design phase activities across concurrent projects, including estimating, partner selection, scheduling, design development, quality control, and commissioning planning for MEP work.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive knowledge of MEP systems, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams while maintaining cost and schedule targets. Travel up to 70% is expected; base pay ranges per office location are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of construction experience, preferably with MEP contractors or engineering firms.
• Minimum of five years estimating or on-site project management experience in construction or 5 years design/project management at an engineering firm.

Responsibilities

• Provide input in acquisition of new projects and development of bid packages.
• Design Phase Management including review of MEP options and system analysis.
• Coordinate life cycle cost analysis during MEP system selection.
• Present MEP estimate details to clients and engineers.
• Support project team and on-site MEP resources to meet scope, quality and schedule goals.
