Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced MEP Design Phase Manager to lead electrical design activities for multiple commercial projects. You will oversee design development, scheduling, proposals, and risk management while applying Lean Design Delivery and BIM/VDC tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.
• 10+ years of construction experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor.
• 5+ years of estimating or on-site project management experience, with 1–2 years as Preconstruction Manager.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use project management tools.
• Knowledge of LEED tracking and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process for one or more concurrent commercial projects.
• Define completed project expectations with customers/owners for the design phase.
• Facilitate selection and contracting with designers for design-build projects.
• Develop and present project proposals and detailed design phase schedules.
• Lead design team to ensure constructability and Lean Design Delivery principles.
• Oversee cost estimation, budgeting, and life-cycle analysis for the design phase.
• Ensure regulatory approvals and risk management requirements are met.
• Mentor design phase engineers and leadership development within the team.
