Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager II to lead MEP-dominant projects, directing project scope, quality, safety, and customer relationships. This role focuses on delivering projects on time and within budget while mentoring the project team.

The successful candidate will coordinate with owners, engineers, and trade partners, manage change orders, and ensure effective 3-D coordination, commissioning, and closeout activities across medium to large projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum seven years of construction management experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
• Current driver's license
• Ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for complex projects
• Detail-oriented with ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
• Intermediate Microsoft Office, project, and web application skills
• Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
• Active listening and effective communication with diverse input
• Ability to travel up to 100%
• Knowledge of EEO and affirmative action plans

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall financial health of projects, including projections, cost codes, invoices, and monthly owner billings
• Oversee budget and trade partner selection, billings, contracts, and 3-D coordination and commissioning
• Lead project closeout activities, including manuals, model turnover, and training
• Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s) with assignments and feedback
• Act as main owner contact with the owner and on-site representative, resolving site concerns
• Manage change orders and secure approvals
• Maintain schedule and budget through completion while overseeing quality, risk, safety, and compliance
• Lead diverse teams with coaching and feedback
