Job summary

Arlington County Government, through the Department of Environmental Services, seeks two Building Engineers to maintain and oversee MEP systems across more than 38 County facilities. Roles may be filled at Trainee, Building Engineer I, or Building Engineer II levels based on qualifications.

Engineers will monitor BAS performance, respond to emergencies affecting MEP, power, and life safety systems, and perform routine diagnostics and preventive maintenance to ensure reliable operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor MEP systems across 38 facilities.
• Perform diagnosis, repair and preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment.
• Operate and respond to Building Automation Systems (BAS) and alarms.
• Provide oversight to ensure life safety, power generation and system reliability.
