Job summary

Atlantic Constructors seeks a motivated Assistant Superintendent to join our growing commercial construction team in the Greater Richmond area. This role partners with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager to deliver high‑profile ground‑up or large‑scale commercial projects, overseeing MEP trades, safety, schedules, and quality assurance.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of leadership on large crews, strong cost awareness, and proven collaboration with engineering and estimating teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as General Foreman/Superintendent/Asst. Superintendent or equivalent
• Supervise large crews (10+) across trades
• Experience supervising large teams
• Knowledge of labor, job cost, and workforce planning/estimating
• Understanding of cost control, forecasting and goal setting
• Effective verbal and written communication across disciplines
• Present information to customers/clients/colleagues
• OSHA 30 and CPR certified
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, design guides, specs and contract docs

Responsibilities

• Supervise field foremen for MEP trades
• Coordinate with Superintendent and Project Manager to execute projects
• Maintain schedules and enforce safety standards
• Review drawings and coordinate with engineering/estimating
• Ensure materials, equipment, and inspections align with plans
• Provide guidance on budgeting and scheduling to crews
• Address issues affecting productivity and safety
• Coordinate site safety and two-week look-aheads with foremen
• Travel to multiple job sites as assigned
• Support quality assurance and coordination with Quality/Engineering
