Job summary

Extell Development Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager, MEP, to support planning, design, coordination, construction, commissioning, and turnover of MEP systems across luxury development projects in Utah. You will work with senior project management, design consultants, contractors, and ownership stakeholders to ensure safety, budget, schedule, and quality.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of experience in MEP engineering, construction management, or owner’s rep roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field.
• Experience supporting commercial, hospitality, luxury residential, and/or mixed-use projects preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems.
• Familiarity with state and local building codes, permitting processes, and utility coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and technical documents.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and commissioning documentation.
• Understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Design & coordination: review MEP drawings and specs; coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Construction oversight: develop scopes of work, monitor trades, review submittals and change orders.
• Commissioning & turnover: manage commissioning activities and ensure documentation for handover.
• General project support: maintain records, reports, and logs; support process improvements.
