Job summary

A leading mental health organization is seeking a master’s level clinician for Families Forward/Crisis Services in Lansing, Michigan. The clinician will provide urgent therapeutic services and support to families and youth, fostering safety and well-being through direct intervention and collaboration with service providers. We're looking for a candidate with a Master’s Degree in a relevant field, effective communication skills, and at least one year of experience working with children and adolescents with Severe Emotional Disturbance.

Qualifications

Job Description

Responsibilities: Do you have a passion for creating a safety-oriented environment? Under the supervision of Families Forward Urgent Care Services Coordinator, staff serves as a master’s level clinician providing short-term, urgent intervention services to families and youth at risk of hospitalization, with recent hospitalization, or at risk for out-of-home placement. Family therapy sessions are conducted 2-5 times a week. Intervention services include intake assessments, home-based and community-based therapy, referrals, and family interventions that require extensive crisis/safety planning and follow-up. Other duties include consultation and collaboration with service providers and case documentation. Services are provided in the office, community, and clients' homes. The staff is responsible for executing all activities of the program/sub-unit in alignment with CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required or must be obtained within 60 days of application. An appropriate State of Michigan credential is required; LMSW is preferred or must be applied for and obtainable within 60 days of hire. One year of professional or paraprofessional experience in examining, evaluating, and treating children and adolescents with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) and their families is required. Experience within the past 6 years with minors with SED and families is necessary. Candidates must communicate effectively in writing and verbally, work well with others, possess a valid Michigan driver’s license, and have access to reliable transportation.

Conditional Employment Requirement: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks, credential verification, and drug screening, including Michigan State Police clearance, Central Registry Screening, professional license verification, Medicaid/Medicare verification, driving record check, educational background check, and work history verification.

Salary/Hours: $58,843 - $66,788 annually, with scheduled increases potentially raising salary to $77,230. Work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a flexible schedule.
