Job summary

BayCare Health System in the Tampa Bay area seeks a Mental Health Technician to join North Bay Recovery Center in Lutz, FL. This full-time, hourly role operates 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with every-other weekend shifts.

You will provide direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision, perform ongoing monitoring, and foster therapeutic communication. Requires BLS; CNA or Patient Care Technician are preferred; education includes a high school diploma and an associate’s degree.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's degree in a related field.
• CNA or Patient Care Technician credential preferred; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: North Bay Recovery Center


• Location: Lutz, FL


• Status: Full time, Hourly


• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM


• Weekend Work: Every Other


• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.


• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.


• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)


• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred


• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Education:

• High School or Equivalent


• Associate's degree in related field

Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
