BayCare Health Systems is seeking a Mental Health Technician for North Bay Recovery Center in Lutz, Florida. The role involves direct patient care for psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision, with monitoring and therapeutic patient engagement.

Requirements include BLS, CNA or Patient Care Technician preferred, and 6 months of psychology-related experience. High school diploma required; related degrees preferred. Full-time, hourly position with daytime shifts and occasional weekends.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: North Bay Recovery Center


• Location: Lutz, FL


• Status: Full time, Hourly


• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM


• Weekend Work: Every Other


• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.


• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.


• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)


• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred


• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Required Education:

• High School or Equivalent


• Associate's degree in related field - Preferred


• Bachelor's degree in related field- Preferred

Required Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
