Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks a Mental Health Technician to join Swedish Hospital’s Per Diem team in Chicago. Under supervision, you will provide direct patient care to individuals with behavioral health disorders, maintain a safe milieu, and participate in treatment planning with nursing staff.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, documenting care, and ensuring patient safety. Must have High School Diploma or GED, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license; flexible

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license required if off-site location is used.
• Experience in psychiatric settings preferred.
• Demonstrated de-escalation and behavior management skills.

Responsibilities

• Hygiene/Personal Needs and meal setup/removal.
• Assist with daily living activities and document care.
• Support patient nutrition and safety as directed by RN.
• Provide age-appropriate assistance and supervise patients when needed.
• Transport or escort patients as assigned and aid in admission/discharge tasks.
• Maintain infection control standards and accurate records.
