Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago is seeking a Mental Health Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. This per diem role emphasizes safety, de-escalation, and helping patients with daily living activities in a behavioral health setting.

You will document care, assist with meals, monitor vitals, transport patients as needed, and participate in treatment planning. A HS diploma, CPR and CPI certifications are required within specified timelines; weekend

Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate de-escalation and behavior management techniques.
• Valid driver’s license if required for off-site responsibilities.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire; CPI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hygiene/personal needs support and meal assistance per patient plan.
• Carry out plan of care with attention to age-specific needs and safety.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and documentation per policy.
• Provide one-to-one supervision and maintain a therapeutic milieu.
• Communicate patient status with RN and other team members.
