Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Mental Health Technician to provide compassionate direct patient care to individuals with behavioral health disorders under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu, document care, and support activities of daily living and nutrition per patient needs.

The role is full-time at Highland Park Hospital with rotating weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to demonstrate de-escalation and behavior management techniques.
• Driver's license required if performing off-site duties and personal vehicle is used with insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to patients with behavioral health disorders under RN supervision.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and document care as required.
• Assist with activities of daily living and nutritional intake; support with bathing and toileting as needed.
• Carry out plan of care with consideration to patient age-specific needs and infection control standards.
• Communicate patient status with the RN and transport or escort patients when required.
