Job summary

BayCare Health Systems is seeking a Mental Health Technician for St. Joseph's Behavior Health Center in Tampa, FL. The role supports psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision, providing safety monitoring and therapeutic interactions with patients.

This full-time, evening shift offers benefits and opportunities to join a compassionate team. Requirements include a High School diploma (Associate's or Bachelor's preferred), BLS certification, and 6 months related experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: St Joseph's Behavior Health Center
• Location: Tampa, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Required Education:

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's degree in related field - Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in related field- Preferred

Required Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
