Job summary

BayCare Health Systems seeks a Mental Health Technician to join the Adult Behavioral Health King Heile team in New Port Richey, FL. This full-time, hourly role provides direct patient care under RN supervision, focusing on safety, monitoring and therapeutic communication with psychiatric inpatients.

The position requires BLS; CNA or Patient Care Technician credentials are preferred, with education from high school and related degrees preferred. 6 months related experience preferred.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: Adult Behavioral Health King Heile
• Location: New Port Richey , FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Required Education:

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's degree in related field - Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in related field- Preferred

Required Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
