Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join the St. Joseph - Main team in Tampa, FL. This full-time, hourly position supports psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision, with evening shift hours 6:45 PM–7:15 AM and every-other weekend.

On-site role with a compassionate, patient-centered focus and opportunities for advancement within a large health system. Required: basic life support; preferred CNA or Patient Care Technician. Education: HS diploma, associate’s or bachelor’s preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA or Patient Care Technician preferred.
• 6 months related experience in psychology or related field.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

Required Certification/Licensures:
