Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join the St. Joseph's Main team.

This full-time, hourly role provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision and maintains patient safety and therapeutic engagement during the evening shift. The position requires BLS; CNA or Patient Care Technician credentials are preferred; an associate’s degree or higher is desirable.

Qualifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) is required.
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred.
• Patient Care Technician - preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: St. Josephs
• Location: Tampa, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
