Job summary

BayCare Health Systems is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the Child Treatment Center in New Port Richey. This field-based role in Pasco County is full-time and hourly, with hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Travel is required and weekend work is not expected. Responsibilities include direct patient care under RN supervision, continuous monitoring for safety, and fostering therapeutic relationships with patients.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in related field preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) and Patient Care Technician are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision.
• Performs ongoing monitoring and observation to ensure safety and well-being.
• Promotes therapeutic communication and relationships with patients.
• Field-Based role in Pasco County with travel required.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: Child Treatment Center
• Location: Field-Based, Pasco County
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 8:00 am- 5:00 pm
• Weekend Work: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required

Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Education:

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's degree in related field -

Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
