Job summary

BayCare Health Systems is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join the St. Joseph's North team in Lutz, FL. This full-time, hourly role supports psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision and helps maintain patient safety and therapeutic relationships.

Shift is 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM with every-other-weekend work. Eligible employees enjoy benefits including health, dental, vision, PTO, tuition reimbursement, and 401k match.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree in related field preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• BLS certification required; CNA or Patient Care Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: St. Josephs North
• Location: Lutz, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Weekend Work: Every Other

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Required Education:

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's degree in related field - Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in related field- Preferred

Required Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
