Job summary

BayCare Health Systems is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join our Winter Haven Hospital team. This full-time, hourly position involves direct patient care for psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision and ongoing safety monitoring.

Qualified candidates will have BLS certification, CNA or Patient Care Technician preferred, and education from high school to Associate/Bachelor's degree preferred. Competitive benefits offered.

• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
• Patient Care Technician - preferred
• High School or Equivalent required or preferred depending on role

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients

Education

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: Winter Haven Hospital
• Location: Winter Haven, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required Certification/Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Required Education:

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's degree in related field - Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in related field- Preferred

Required Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
