Job summary

Compass Intervention Center is seeking a Mental Health Tech to support clients with supervision and direct care in a therapeutic milieu. The role emphasizes crisis intervention and teaching coping strategies under supervision of nursing and milieu staff.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in psychology or related field (high school diploma acceptable for entry) and prefers at least one year in a psychiatric setting, with CPR training and de‑escalation skills highlighted as essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
• One year experience with psychiatric population preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships, age-specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, verbal de-escalation, CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe environment for clients and provide direct supervision.
• Deliver direct client care under supervision of Milieu Manager & Registered Nurse.
• Provide crisis intervention, education groups, and activities of daily living.
