Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a compassionate caregiver to join the mental health team on inpatient and/or outpatient units. You will provide direct patient care, document progress, and support safety plans under licensed nurse supervision.

Responsibilities include executing treatment plans, participating in group activities, and ensuring accurate charting while maintaining HIPAA compliance. AHS CPR, restraint training, and high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• American Heart Association CPR certification required upon hire or during orientation and every two years thereafter.
• Avade 2 restraint training completed within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Participates as part of the mental health team on inpatient/outpatient units.
• Provides direct patient care, including documentation and milieu safety assessments.
• Records observations and communicates changes to licensed nurses.
• Maintains patient safety through safety checks and de-escalation; assists in emergencies.
• Leads or co-leads group activities and supports unit-based quality initiatives.
• Maintains patient care records and participates in required meetings.
