Job summary

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit in New Jersey, is seeking a full-time Resource Specialist to help individuals identify, access, and navigate financial, healthcare, educational, and housing resources. The role provides hands-on support, advocacy, and peer-based assistance to promote independence and recovery.

Qualifications

• Must have strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build respectful, supportive relationships with individuals receiving mental health services.
• Knowledge of mental health, recovery, and community-based resources.
• Willingness to share personal experiences related to mental health/substance use to support others.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in identifying and obtaining financial, healthcare, educational, housing, and other resources.
• Provide information about available community services and referrals based on individual needs.
• Assist with completing applications for benefits like Medicaid and Social Security.
• Offer peer-based, person-centered support to promote independence and recovery.
• Maintain current knowledge of community programs and build relationships with providers.
