Job summary

CSPNJ is seeking a full-time Resource Specialist to help individuals identify, access, and navigate financial, healthcare, and other community resources. The role includes advocacy and peer-based support to promote independence and recovery.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with experience or a mental-health-related degree, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A valid NJ driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant work experience, or a bachelor's in a mental health field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability to build supportive relationships.
• Knowledge of mental health, wellness, recovery, and community resources.
• Willingness to share personal experiences to support others.
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with clients.
• Empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed approaches in engagement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Lived experience with mental health/substance use issues desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in identifying and obtaining resources.
• Provide information about community services and referrals based on needs.
• Assist with applications for Medicaid, Social Security, birth certificates, identification, and other documents.
• Provide peer-based, person-centered support that promotes independence and recovery.
• Research current community programs and resources.
• Build and maintain relationships with service providers and organizations.
