Job summary

CSPNJ is seeking a full-time Housing Specialist in the central region to coordinate housing opportunities and referrals for people served. The role collaborates with community partners to address needs, ensure compliance with housing program requirements, and promote stable access to housing resources.

Face-to-face interaction with residents comprises about 55% of duties. The position offers full-time employment with medical, dental, and vision benefits, 6 weeks of PTO, and 11 paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, particularly listening, mediation, and writing skills.
• Ability to engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses through empathy and trauma-informed approaches.
• Detail oriented to complete files and contract compliance.

Responsibilities

• Identify housing opportunities and facilitate referrals to housing resources.
• Collaborate with brokers, landlords, linkage agencies, and government housing agencies.
• Monitor ongoing partnerships, ensure contract compliance, and promote positive communication.
• Provide proactive follow-up home visits to promote housing stability.
