Job summary

Hendry County Government seeks a Resource Coordinator for the LaBelle Resiliency Hub to coordinate intake and connect residents with mental health services. You will liaise with Salvation Army, United Way, and providers to expand access and manage hub activities.

The role requires strong organizational abilities, prior case management or social services experience, and proficiency in MS Office. Evening/weekend events may be required.

Job description

WORK LOCATION: LaBelle, FL

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mental Health Resource Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day activity within the LaBelle Resiliency Hub with a focus on assisting residence needing mental health services and expanding mental health services access for individuals and families in need. This includes coordination of mental health agencies and providers utilizing the Center, knowledge of available resources for clients seeking Mental Health services, coordination of services for clients, and related special initiatives.

The Resource Coordinator will also assist in overseeing agencies who serve in the Hub and liaison between the Hub and United Way.

The Resource Coordinator will coordinate with the Salvation Army and United Way to ensure that County funding provided for social services is being utilized.

Coordinate volunteers to cover front desk to receive calls and walk-ins at the Hub.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the intake of calls and walk-ins for clients needing mental health services.

Connecting clients with the appropriate available mental health provider and/ or setting up clients with Telehealth services and helping facilitate those services as needed.

Communicate with mental health providers serving Hendry County as well as those outside of the County in order to properly understand the services they provide connect clients with providers.

Work with mental health providers and County Public Information Officer on messaging to promote mental health services in the County.

Coordinate with mental health providers to schedule time for them to utilize the suboffice space for meetings with clients and walk-ins.

Oversee the implementation and day-to-day operation of activities in Hendry County within the LaBelle Resiliency Hub network and other relevant locations.

Communicate regularly with United Way 211 to ensure services are accurate in the database as well as to facilitate direct service needs.

Maintain constant communication with Salvation Army/ United Way and supervisor to ensure County funding for social services is being utilized to serve residents.

Coordinate volunteers to cover front desk to receive calls and walk-ins at the Hub.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Strong organizational and administrative skills required.

Excellent active listening, and interpersonal skills required. Strong problem solving, critical thinking, prioritization, and judgment skills required.Must be able to multi-task and work in a high-energy and fluid environment with varying deadlines.

Ability to write clear and concise reports, referrals, and correspondence. Ability to present information and respond to client questions seeking services from local mental health/behavioral health providers. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Requires knowledge of MS office software and database programs.

Occasional public speaking may be required.

Problem solving capabilities and cultural diversity skills.

Valid Florida Driver’s License with a driving record that meets our insurance guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of AA degree or comparable work experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of case management, program management, social services, and mental health services experience preferred.Prior experience for nonprofit employers preferred. Experience with Crisis Intervention Training ideal.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

LOCATION/HOURS OF WORK: LaBelle Resiliency Hub – 133 N. Bridge St.
8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Weekdays, with evening and weekend events to be required as job duties demand.

ANTICIPATED STARTING PAY:
Minimum $18.00 per hour and maximum rate of pay depends upon experience and/or certifications. This is a full-time hourly position that includes County medical benefits and State Retirement.
