Description Of Work
The Mental Health Receptionist Lead provides administrative support to the Counseling and Psychological Services department and daily leadership and supervision to the Office Associates. As the Mental Health Receptionist Lead, you will:
- Use good judgment, assess and provide information to clients either in person or on the phone while ensuring client confidentiality.
- Maintain a complex computerized schedule of appointments for students seeking mental health treatment for professional clinicians and trainees.
- Determine student eligibility, schedule/maintain appointments, and prepare educational materials and general correspondence.
- Act as liaison with other UNL departments/agencies, local hospitals, and community agencies.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree and two (2) years demonstrated responsible office/clerical work experience; equivalent education/experience considered. Must have a demonstrated ability to effectively lead others. Experience working with customers or clients who are challenging or experiencing personal difficulty. Demonstrated knowledge and ability using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint. Must be a highly skilled, well-organized and dedicated professional with sound judgment, ability to prioritize work assignments while exercising the highest degree of confidentiality in all matters. Must have the emotional stability to maintain composure and calmness in stressful and emotionally-charged situations, a confidential work setting and constant, multiple and varying expectations from many sources. Ability to make decisions quickly and knowledgeably regarding whether or not a particular presenting problem constitutes an emergency.
Preferred Qualifications
Four years of office/clerical work. Experience working in an environment with considerable interaction with people, ideally in a mental health context. Experience interacting effectively with individuals in emotional crisis. Experience working with college-age students or for a university or college.
Posted Salary $20.00/hr minimum
