Job summary

Adams and Associates, Inc. partners with Exeter Job Corps Academy to recruit a Mental Health Consultant focused on early identification and diagnosis of mental health issues among students.

The role supports coordination across counseling, residential life, and recreation to promote student wellbeing. Responsibilities include diagnostic and evaluative services, crisis intervention, and maintaining confidential mental health records, with referrals as needed, while aligning with Center programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must be a Clinical/Counseling Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker with an active, unrestricted RI license.
• Two years of diagnostic assessment and therapy experience with youth/young adults preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Center Director and wellness staff on student mental health matters.
• Provide diagnostic/evaluative services and crisis intervention as needed.
• Assist with program development integrating mental health with other Center programs.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard mental health records.
• Provide referrals and clinical support for students with co-morbid issues.

Our center specializes in Culinary Arts, Welding, Electronics Engineering, and Certified Medical Assistant training.EMPLOYMENT AT EXETER JOB CORPSEmployment at Exeter Job Corps is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, employment verification, education verification, professional reference check and motor vehicle record check.Salary: $80k annuallyHere is the schedule for this role:Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pmAdvises the Center Director and health and wellness staff on all student mental health mattersProvides consultation on the development of a system to promote the coordination and integration of the mental health and wellness program with other Center programs and activities such as counseling, residential life, and recreationAdvises and assists the wellness course instructors regarding mental health and wellness services during student introduction to Center lifeAssists with program development for the purpose of meeting the life crises of students in constructive ways which includes career preparation, development, and transition periodsAdvises the Center Director on the advisability of students' separations for mental health reasons and the cost of mental health services, including inpatient facility useEnsures the maintenance, confidentiality, and safeguarding of all necessary mental health recordsProvides diagnostic and evaluative services to students as necessaryProvides limited forms of psychiatric treatment including crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy, intermittent supportive psychotherapy, psychotropic drug management and group psychotherapy, as permitted by licensure or accreditationProvides appropriate referrals for students who must be separated for mental health reasonsProvides clinical assistance to students and the drug and alcohol specialist, especially with students who may have co-morbid psychiatric and substance abuse disordersOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree requiredMust be a Clinical/Counseling Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker with an active, unrestricted license to practice as an independent practitioner in the state of Rhode IslandTwo years of experience in diagnostic assessment and therapy services with youth and young adults strongly preferred“Adams and Associates, Inc. abides by the requirements of 41 CFR §§ 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
