Job summary

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must hold a CNA/HCA license in good standing.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must hold a medication pass certification per state requirements.
• Current First Aid and CPR Card.
• Maintains a Food Handlers card.
• Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check.
• General computer literacy with Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications or assists with self-administration per physician orders.
• Maintains accurate med records on residents' clinical records.
• Records narcotics and reports medications errors immediately.
• Reports changes in resident conditions to Nursing Services and family as directed.
• Communicates with physician, pharmacy, and family to ensure timely medication delivery.
• Provides direct resident care while promoting dignity and independence.
• Assists with ADLs and documents care provided.
• Greet residents and guests, upholding confidentiality and rights.
• Follows infection control practices and safety plans; reports unsafe conditions.
• Restores medication and equipment; keeps med room organized.
