Job summary

Generations Assisted Living & Memory Care is seeking a Medication Aide to support residents with prescribed medications in a respectful, compliant manner. You will follow the six rights, document on MAR, and maintain a clean med cart while ensuring privacy and safety.

Ideal candidates hold Nurse Aide 1 and Medication Aide certifications, are 18+, and speak English. A caring, friendly demeanor and ability to work with older adults are essential for daily resident support.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum of one year experience in caregiver work preferred.
• Desire to work with older adults and memory impaired.
• Nurse Aide 1 Certification, verifiable on Healthcare Personnel Registry or PCA certification.
• Current Medication Aide Certification.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Friendly, caring disposition.

Responsibilities

• Follow the six rights of medication administration for each medication pass.
• Administer/assist residents with medications per MAR and protect privacy.
• Document clearly on MAR after meds are given, refused, held, or changed as policy dictates.
• Maintain a neat, clean and organized med cart/room and restock as needed.
• Supervise caregiver staff on duty to ensure quality care.
• Notify care coordinators of changes in resident condition.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Check on residents and report findings.
• Assist staff with activities and dining room supervision.
• Assist with serving meals and supervise staff in dining room.
• Help with cleaning and tidying resident rooms and laundry as needed.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with residents and families.
