Job summary

Columbia Cottage is seeking a Life Enrichment Coordinator to design and lead engaging programs for Assisted Living residents, with a focus on memory care. The role emphasizes person-centered activities that support physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.

You will collaborate with the caregiving and clinical teams, tailor activities to each resident's interests, and coordinate events and community outreach, promoting dignity, belonging, and a vibrant atmosphere for seniors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a senior living, assisted living, memory care, healthcare, or related setting preferred.
• Experience working with individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of person-centered programming and therapeutic approaches for memory care residents.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Creative, energetic, and passionate about enriching the lives of older adults.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive life enrichment program tailored to the interests, abilities, and needs of the residents.
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of recreational, educational, and social activities that promote cognitive stimulation, physical wellness, and meaningful engagement.
• Collaborate with caregiving and clinical team members to understand each resident's unique preferences, strengths, and abilities and adapt programs accordingly.
• Encourage resident participation and foster a welcoming environment that promotes connection, dignity, and a sense of belonging.
• Coordinate community events, outings, holiday celebrations, and special programs that enhance residents' quality of life.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and evaluate program effectiveness to ensure activities remain engaging and purposeful.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and team members to support a vibrant community culture.
