Job summary

Oakmont Management Group in Escondido oversees the Ivy Living community's Traditions Memory Care. The Memory Care Director leads a holistic dementia-care approach, partnering with residents to promote independence and quality of life while managing care plans and daily operations.

The role requires dementia care experience, staff supervision, and collaboration with clinical and culinary teams to deliver personalized, high-quality services for residents and families.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Prefer two (2) years of experience working with persons with dementia.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees.
• Preferred BA/BS in Gerontology, psychology, sociology, or related field or at least 3 years in social services or residential care.
• Residential Care Facility for the Elderly administrator license may be required.
• Hold or obtain certifications related to Dementia care (CDP/CAC/CAE/CDCM etc.).
• Able to obtain and maintain first aid and CPR certification.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s certification.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, TB tests.
• Vaccination or health screening requirements may be requested per guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment following safety standards.
• Ensures compliance with state regulations for memory care (Title 22).
• Recruits memory care staff; conducts interviews, hires, onboards, trains, motivates, and retains team members.
• Coordinates departmental schedule to meet resident needs per company standards.
• Communicates tactfully with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Supports resident participation in activities and a dynamic daily activities program.
• Supports dining participation and collaborates with Culinary team to meet nutrition needs.
• Provides input to Health Services Director on memory care assessments.
• Coordinates incidental medical, dental, vision, hearing care and escorts as needed.
• Partners with healthcare professionals and state agencies on resident care needs.
