Job summary

Ovation is seeking a compassionate Dining Room Supervisor for memory care at Ovation Heartwood Preserve in Omaha, NE. This hands-on leadership role oversees 10+ dining staff, assists with schedules, and supports daily dining operations to deliver resident-centered service.

The ideal candidate will have experience in restaurant, hospitality, senior living, or memory care dining, with strong leadership and customer service skills. Familiarity with memory care needs is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires 1-2 years of food service experience, with at least 6-12 months in a supervisory or management role.
• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety.
• Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene while working, including hair secured.
• Interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships with staff and other departments.
• Ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
• Active CPR/BLS Certification and current CPR/BLS certification maintained during employment.
• Current Food Handler's card issued by local Health Department.
• Knowledge of dietary practices, procedures, and related laws for hospital and ALF/IL/ALZ operations.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.

Responsibilities

• Train servers and hosts on etiquette, hospitality, and service standards.
• Create work schedules, assign side-work, and manage shift coverage.
• Conduct performance evaluations and address disciplinary issues as needed.
• Welcome new residents, assist with seating, ensure warm dining atmosphere.
• Coordinate with healthcare and dietary teams to meet prescribed diets and texture modifications.
• Track meal attendance and alert Wellness/Concierge staff if a resident misses a safety check.
• Handle resident complaints tactfully and accommodate culinary preferences.
• Plan daily table sections and service flow based on meal counts.
• Supervise pacing and execution of meal services and assist with tray delivery/room service.
• Monitor dining supplies and assist in stock put-away or light dishwashing.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing, ADA, OSHA, and health department regulations.
• Supervise daily/weekly cleaning to maintain a safe environment.
• Ensure adherence to health codes and sanitation standards.
• Monitor food temperatures and safe handling during service.
• Manage cleaning schedules and side-work duties for serving staff.
• Dispose of food waste per policy.
• Other duties as assigned.
