Ovation Lead Server in Omaha leads dining room operations across independent living, assisted living, and memory care, ensuring timely service and high hospitality standards. You will supervise shifts, support staff, and coordinate with care teams to meet dietary and safety needs.

The role combines hands-on food service with supervision and compassionate resident interaction, ensuring menus and restrictions are followed while maintaining a warm, dignified dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety (on-the-job training).
• Maintain high personal hygiene standards, including frequent hand washing and hair restraint.
• Interpersonal skills to collaborate with departments and staff.
• Ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must possess an active CPR/BLS Certification and keep it current.
• Requires current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department.
• Knowledge of dietary practices and procedures and related laws for hospital/nursing home operation.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.

Responsibilities

• Lead the dining room floor during meals, coordinating seating, taking orders, and delivering food for timely service.
• Oversee table setups to ensure a clean, welcoming, safe environment.
• Assist in training and mentoring new dining servers on standards and resident interaction.
• Collaborate with the Dining Services Director to adjust daily specials and communicate menu changes or feedback.
• Monitor resident dietary restrictions and preferences and ensure appropriate accommodations.
• Communicate daily with care staff to assist residents with changing needs and adaptive dining equipment.
• Foster a person-centered environment, especially in memory care, with patience and clear communication.
• Ensure dining room, service stations, and equipment meet state health codes and sanitation standards.
• Monitor food temperatures and safe handling practices during service.
• Manage cleaning schedules and side-work duties for serving staff.
• Dispose of food and waste per policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
