Job summary

Sunnyside Communities seeks compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants for memory support neighborhoods in Martinsville. This part-time role runs 5:00 PM–9:00 PM, with every-other weekend, totaling about 28 hours per week. Pay ranges from $15.00 to $20.42 per hour plus shift differential.

Responsibilities include ADL assistance, documentation, and maintaining a safe, respectful home-like environment. Requires active Virginia CNA license, 80-hour geriatric cert, and CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• 80-hour geriatric nursing certification completed or enrolled.
• Must pass Virginia NACEP test after certification.
• Current Nursing Assistant license through Virginia Board of Nursing.
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its integrity.
• Ability to multi-task with attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to work in stressful environment and handle medical emergencies.
• Strong customer service with a hospitality approach.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with staff at shift handovers to relay vital information.
• Anticipate resident needs to prevent falls and promote safety.
• Maintain hygiene and isolation precautions to prevent transmission.
• Bathe residents according to schedule and provide care with dignity.
• Transfer and reposition residents using proper body mechanics.
• Report pain or changes in condition to the nurse promptly.
• Record vital signs and care delivered accurately.
• Assist in serving meals and feeding as needed.
• Operate patient care equipment daily and ensure readiness.
• Respond to resident call bells within 3–6 minutes consistently.
• Keep rooms neat, assist with care plans, and follow safety protocols.
