Job summary

Atria Senior Living - Bay Shore is seeking a dedicated Life Guidance team member to lead activity programs for residents. You will create engaging leisure activities with appropriate supervision and tailor plans to individual needs, including those in rooms.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of Alzheimer's/dementia activity needs, and flexible scheduling. Join a supportive community focused on resident well‑being and a healthy work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–2 years experience with adults and activity programming.
• Working knowledge of recreational therapy methods and their application to residents with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
• Certifications required based on state regulations.
• Able to work varied schedules and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead Life Guidance programs and develop service plans.
• Offer diversified recreational activities with supervision.
• Involve Life Guidance staff in daily programming and activities of daily living.
• Plan individual birthday celebrations for residents.
• Develop programs for residents including room-bound individuals.
• Engage and motivate residents to maximize participation.
• Greet new residents and help integrate them into the community.
• Plan parties, decorate for seasons/holidays, and support census-building initiatives.
• Maintain records of activity participation as required by state law.
