Job summary

Atria Senior Living - Patchogue is seeking dedicated staff to lead Life Guidance programs and provide engaging activities for residents. You will plan and supervise a variety of recreational activities tailored to individual needs, while collaborating with staff to create a welcoming, engaging environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of recreational therapy, and state-required certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–2 years experience with adults in activities/training.
• Knowledge of recreational therapy methods and dementia care.
• Certification(s) required by state regulations.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Leads Life Guidance programs and develops service plans.
• Offers diversified activities with supervision.
• Involves Life Guidance staff in daily program planning and activities of daily living.
• Plans individualized birthday celebrations for residents.
• Develops programs for residents including room-bound individuals.
• Engages and motivates residents for participation.
• Greets new residents and helps integrate them socially.
• Assists in planning community events and seasonal decorations.
• Supports census-building initiatives and maintains activity records.
• Helps enlist volunteers for the activities program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
