Job summary

Alden Estates and Courts of Huntley is seeking a Memory Care Aide to support a holistic, therapeutic memory care program for residents with dementia. You will assist in delivering person-centered activities and collaborate with the care team to enhance quality of life on the memory care unit.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 1 year in healthcare, and 3 months experience with Alzheimer’s/dementias.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year of experience in the healthcare field (working or volunteering).
• At least three months of experience engaging with persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Desire to work with the memory care population and ability to communicate Memory Care Program to the community and families.
• Willingness to continuously learn about dementia and apply therapeutic approaches.

Responsibilities

• Support the Memory Care Program and assist in providing person-centered activities for residents.
• Assist in conducting assessments and developing memory care plans.
• Encourage family involvement and participate in Family Council Meetings as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, safe unit and follow state and federal regulations.
• Provide emotional support to residents, families, and the inter-disciplinary team.
