Job summary

Atria Senior Living – Larson Place in Hamden, CT is seeking a Life Guidance team member to design and lead engaging activities for residents, plan daily programs, and involve staff in execution. You will greet new residents, tailor events, and help with celebrations to enhance home-like living.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of recreational therapy for residents with dementia, and state-certified credentials.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of recreational therapy or activity programming for residents with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
• Certification(s) per state regulations are required.
• Ability to work various schedules and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Leads Life Guidance programs and develops service plans.
• Offers diversified activities with supervision.
• Involves Life Guidance staff in daily programming including activities of daily living.
• Plans resident birthday celebrations and monthly events.
• Develops programs for residents including those confined to rooms.
• Engages residents to maximize participation and social interaction.
• Greet new residents and integrate them into community activities.
