Qualifications

• Must have GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of recreational therapy methods for residents with Alzheimer's/Dementia.
• Required state certifications based on current regulations.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Leads assigned Life Guidance programs and develops service plans.
• Offers adequate and diversified recreational activities to residents with supervision.
• Involves Life Guidance staff in planning and daily programming including daily living activities.
• Plans birthday celebrations for each resident.
• Develops programs including for residents confined to rooms.
• Engages residents to maximize participation.
• Greets new residents and facilitates introductions to peers.
• Assists in planning events and decorating the community by season/holiday.
• Supports census-building and maintains activity records as required by state law.
• Assists Life Guidance Director with volunteers for activities.
